At Classic Shoes we only offer leather shoes. When almost every shoe store offersmen's leather shoes it seems that this is nothing unusual. However, skin is not equal. The vast majority of chain stores sell shoes made of ground, split leather, which in fact should not be called "real leather".
The term leather or "real leather" refers only to leather that has not been split or divided into layers, in in which the natural structures of the material and their properties have been preserved. This is the "real leather" that the shoes available in our SHOEHOUSE are made of.
Let us also remember that there are many leathers and, depending on their type, the level of formality of the shoes, the method of care and their use differ. Regardless of whatleather men's shoes you choose, pay attention to the quality of the leather used in their production - it is of great importance. Below we describe the types of leather used inmen's leather shoes.
What types of leather are used to make the best men's leather shoes?
These include:
1. Aniline leather, anilines
– their feature is open pores, with a natural texture. For the production of these leathers, we use the absolutely noblest leather without any flaws or scars because their surface is completely visible and is not subject to the grinding or embossing process. These features make shoes made of aniline leather exceptionally soft and pleasant to the touch. However, it should be remembered that open pores mean that water can easily soak into such leather, and it is also susceptible to dirt and discoloration caused by the sun's rays. To protect it, you should use cream and paste regularly.Men's leather shoes made of this material will look beautiful even after many years. Many of the shoes offered by Classic Shoes are made of the noblest of leathers; the brands Carlos Santos and Partigiani are masters in sewing men's leather shoes from aniline.
2. Grain leather
– are obtained from the upper layer of the grain of the leather, where the strongest fibers are found. This part of the leather is most resistant to bending and tearing. It is the most common material for the production of leather men's shoes. However, it should be remembered that split leather is also grain leather, but much less noble and of much lower quality than real grain leather. Good factories avoid using split leather for the production of shoes, but it is very popular in chain production.
3. Suede leather
– classic, real suede is obtained from the lower part of the leather, the so-called fleshing by tanning with fish fats. This is a time-consuming process and the result is leather with characteristic soft, absorbent and easy-to-clean fibers. Leather men's shoes made of suede are very comfortable and fit easily to the foot. Such footwear gets dirty easily and absorbs water, but is very easy to protect against weather conditions. All you need is a bit of impregnation and our suede and leather men's shoes will become waterproof (within reason, of course). Let's also remember that suede leather is resistant to temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius, so it's no wonder that real desert boots are made of it. Men's suede leather shoes are wonderful footwear that will be appreciated by anyone who puts them on their feet at least once.
4. Pebble grain leather
- is full-grain leather on which a specific pattern has been embossed using a machine. In addition to its visual values, which we value very much, embossing also has a very important feature - it closes the pores of the leather, making it more resistant to moisture. For this reason, we recommend men's leather shoes made of this material for the fall and winter season. Embossed leather shoes have a reduced degree of formality and are an ideal addition to casual styling (e.g. jeans and turtleneck) or smart casual (e.g. chino trousers combined with a shirt and sports jacket). In our opinion, they look phenomenal with jeans.
5. Oiled leather
– is grain leather finished with wax or oil. This gives it two properties. Firstly, oiling enhances the patina effect, and secondly, men's leather shoes made of oiled leather are resistant to weather conditions. Shoes made of such material are a good choice in the fall and winter season if we need solid footwear. Similarly to embossing, oiling significantly reduces the formality of footwear, so men's leather shoes made of this material are only suitable for casual styling.>
At Classic Shoes we have footwear made of many types of leather that have one thing in common - high quality. Of course, the types of leather listed above are only the most popular.
