Every year the winters in Poland are getting milder. Despite this, frost and snow come to our country for at least several weeks every year. Therefore, men's winter shoes are the type of footwear that we need. When writing men's winter shoes, we think about shoes that combine functionality, i.e. protection against weather conditions, with elegance, so they will fit both less formal suits and looser winter clothes.
Important:
Classic winter shoes, have a higher upper, reaching at least to the ankle. It happens that men's winter shoes are made with a leather sole, but for purely practical reasons it is more appropriate to buy shoes with a rubber sole, preferably sewn with the belt method - Goodyear welted.

What sewing method is best for men's winter shoes?
The best men's winter footwear are those made with the goodyearwelted method, made of natural calf leather. In the autumn and winter season, strip sewing highlights all its advantages over blake sewing (not to mention glued shoes), thanks to the fact that it provides excellent insulation from the ground, and naturally heavier men's winter shoes, thanks to the cork used in the sole, adapt better to feet and guarantee high comfort of use. Of course, a shoe sewn using the Goodyear welted method is much more resistant to weather conditions, which is particularly important in winter.
What types of men's winter shoes can we distinguish?
The two main categories are:
1. Tied footwear with an ankle-length upper, which in turn includes:
-Ankle boots, i.e. lace-up shoes in which the upper reaches well above the ankle, usually laced they have 6-7 holes, often more.
Ankle boots are currently the most popular type of men's footwear and come in many varieties. Interestingly, the most popular type of shoe is the derby shoe, although traditional shoes had a closed vamp. In Classic Shoes we also have these oxford shoes (Partigiani 7819). Of course, in our SHOEHOUSE you will also find cap-toe, brogue shoes made of suede, grain and grain leather. Even a shoeophile's choice can be dizzying. All our shoes are sewn using the Goodyear welted method, from the best calf leather and the vast majority of them with rubber soles.
-Chukka - their prototype was the so-called "desert boots" or desert shoes. If you are interested in the topic, please see our article "Chukka shoes - a casual classic". These shoes are in their classic ankle-length version, tied with 2 or 3 holes and with a rubber sole. Usually chukkas are smooth, but there are brocaded versions. These shoes, unlike most leather men's winter shoes, are often made of suede leather. The great advantage of chukkas is their functionality, comfort and great casual look. At Classic Shoes, we really like this type of men's winter shoes and we have them made of suede, grain and grain leather.
The second type of men's winter shoes are:
2. Slip-on footwear with a high upper, including:
- Chelsea boots, i.e. classic slip-on ankle boots. Chelsea (because that is another name for this footwear) are the most elegant men's leather winter shoes. Due to the convenience of wearing and putting them on, they are very popular and it must be admitted that they look great both with suits if they are made of grain leather and with jeans if they are made of suede leather. In our SHOEHOUSE you will find many types of Chelsea boots, including those with a leather sole.
-Ankle Monks - this is an example of rare men's winter shoes that are gaining popularity. The increase in interest in ankle-high monks was influenced by the movie Specter, where Daniel Craig, playing James Bond, wore these incredibly stylish men's winter boots. Monks in the winter version can be worn both with a suit (as done by agent 007) and with smart casual, everyday styling. In Classic Shoes you will find beautiful men's winter footwear made with the Goodyear welted method by the Portuguese factory Carlos Santos
-Jodhpury (jodhpur) – rare footwear that comes from India and polo shoes. These are basically slip-on shoes, also equipped with a strap extending from the vamp and ending with a buckle on the upper. In Poland, only the Meka company with which Classic Buty cooperates sews these shoes - so there is a chance to order them in our SHOEHOUSE if someone wants truly exotic men's winter shoes.
