It is important to realize that rubber soles are much more varied than leather soles. They are used in formal shoes such as oxford cap toe (e.g. Partigiani 7748), semi-formal shoes such as semi-brogues (Berwick 2509), smart casual shoes (Carlos Santos 9114), casual shoes (Barker Nairn) and typical hiker boots (Barker Glencoe). The rubber sole works equally well in loafers. Depending on the type of shoe, a different rubber sole is used for a given type of shoe. In formal shoes, we can find combined rubber and leather soles, in smart casual and casual shoes, great Dainite soles fit perfectly, and in hiker shoes, ultra-durable and light Vibram soles work perfectly. However, this is not a rule, and in Partigiani 7730 shoes we used a Vibram sole, which is a huge advantage of these shoes, because it is the most technologically advanced sole in the world.

The quality of the sole has a huge impact on the comfort of using the shoes. Unfortunately, few people realize this and appreciate the use of Dainite soles in shoes, instead of a regular rubber sole, while the difference between them is like between Michelin tires and no-name tires from a supermarket. 

The advantages of rubber soles include their resistance to weather conditions and abrasion. It is also not true that they look worse than leather ones and in our opinion they look great in casual shoes. In England, this type of soles are quite fashionable in country shoes.
